The facility serves both the pretrial detainees and the sentenced population of the participating jurisdictions by providing 136 secure beds. In addition, the facility houses the Sheriff’s Office, Magistrate’s Office and Emergency Services.

The facility aesthetically is designed to blend with the existing architecture of the historic Town of Fincastle. The total gross floor area of the facility is 83,885 square feet, with 58,210 square feet dedicated for the regional jail’s use.
