Ted Constant Convocation Center
Old Dominion University
Completed in 2002

The new 8,700-seat Ted Constant Convocation Center is the anchor project and cornerstone of the University Village, a 75-acre mixed-use campus neighborhood development east of the existing campus. The Ted serves as the “bridge” between the existing campus and new University Village.

Moseley Architects served as Architects of Record on the project, and worked in collaboration with Rossetti Associates serving as consulting design architects.
The “Ted” is a multiuse performance facility designed to accommodate a range of venues for the University and community, including concerts, lectures, vendor exhibits, banquets, men and women’s basketball, and other venues including graduation ceremonies.

The bowl capacity can be downsized from a maximum of 9,700 seats (including arena floor seating) to 2,500, utilizing a truss mounted, moveable curtaining system and retractable seating.
