The William and Mary Athletics Department hired Moseley Architects to assist them in upgrading their football program’s facilities. Part of this process was creating the Jimmye Laycock Football Center in time for the 2008 season.

The center is located at the northwest corner of the stadium and provides a new home for meeting rooms, coaches offices, a 4,200-square-foot locker room with space for 100 lockers, a 3,900-square-foot athletic training room that includes a hydrotherapy room, equipment storage areas, and administrative support areas — as well as an entrance area dedicated to the program’s rich history.

As part of the Laycock Center project, the Joseph Montgomery Practice Complex was also redone with brand new natural grass Bermuda sod. The complex features a full-length practice field, running parallel to the Laycock Center, and a 40-yard field sitting perpendicular to the main practice field. Both fields will feature permanent goal posts.
