Shenandoah District Courts Building

Shenandoah County
Woodstock, Virginia

Situated on an eight-acre site, this two-story, 30,000-square-foot courts building blends traditional and architectural elements to create a unique aesthetic for the county’s general district and juvenile and domestic relations (J&DR) courts. Located near the county’s administration building, the facility also features space for the commonwealth’s attorney and the J&DR court services unit.

The LEED-certified building incorporates high-performance and sustainable design strategies, including low-flow plumbing fixtures, interior finishes with low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC), and highly-reflective roofing materials. During construction, the project supported the local economy by using regionally manufactured materials and diverted 75-82 percent of construction waste from landfills.
