Kreider Commons

Woda Cooper Companies
Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Originally constructed to house a shoe manufacturer, the Kreider Building is a LEED Platinum adaptive-use project. This 63,926-square-foot structure contains 50 apartment units for seniors at an affordable price. Working with Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), the facility accommodates programs and amenities appropriate for seniors, including a grandchild playroom, community room with warming kitchen, and a book share library. Architectural details including windows and doors from the original manufacturing plant were salvaged and restored to use as historical accents throughout the building. The building also features high ceilings, exposed masonry walls, a solar collector, and community water heating.
