This new 23,885-square-foot facility consolidates the county’s emergency services functions. Scaled to blend into a rural setting, the facility is hurricane-resistant, blast-resistant, and features state-of-the-art communications technology. The building houses the emergency management department, which includes the emergency medical services, emergency operations center, fire marshal’s office, and the E-911/emergency communications center. Support components include a four-ambulance vehicle bay, training room, break out rooms, bunk rooms for 24-hour staff, locker rooms, a fitness room, storage, server room, sign shop, and administrative spaces.
