Raleigh, North Carolina

Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School was originally constructed in the 1960s and became North Carolina’s first museums magnet elementary school in 2002. The facility required a major renovation and addition to modernize the learning spaces and refine the environment to support their unique curriculum. The project provided new classrooms, a multi-purpose room, and a media center. The facility’s design incorporates galleries and special exhibition spaces where students’ work can be displayed. Group learning spaces support hands-on projects, class collaboration, and interactive teaching. The facility earned Designed to Earn the Energy Star certification.
