Designed to replace an obsolete facility, the Chesterfield County Detention Center is located on the county government center campus. It provides a safe and secure facility for 250 beds that facilitates best practices for classification, segregation, and observation. The previous facility, with the exception of a 96-bed minimum security unit, was demolished.
