University of North Carolina at Wilmington
Located on UNCW’s main campus, Dobo Hall is a two-story building that contains laboratories and faculty offices for the chemistry, biology, and biochemistry departments. Moseley Architects designed updates to the building envelope and upgrades of the electrical, plumbing and heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems.
As part of the project’s early planning stages, Moseley Architects created a computer model to simulate the amount of HVAC energy required to condition the building’s attic space with different levels of roof insulation. Our team continued this analysis as the project progressed through later design stages to recommend a window glazing with the best combination of thermal performance and daylight harvesting.
