Harnett County Law Enforcement and Detention Center

Harnett County
Lillington, North Carolina

Moseley Architects was selected to conduct a long-term needs assessment of law enforcement, detention, magistrates’ office, emergency operations center, and E911 space needs and to analyze the feasibility of adding onto the facility versus designing a new complex located on a new courthouse campus. The feasibility study compared the construction, transportation, and operations costs of building a new facility at the courthouse site versus renovating and expanding the facilities. Operational cost increases overcame initial building cost savings, and the replacement facility was determined to be the best long-term option. The facility is a 300-bed (expandable to 400+ direct supervision beds) detention and law enforcement center designed for future expansion, as well as E-911 and magistrate’s offices.
