The updated Larrick Student Center provides VCU students, faculty, and staff with new and expanded opportunities for recreation, wellness, socialization, and relaxation. Located on the edge of the MCV campus, the center is tucked between two parking structures, which places the facility at a major pedestrian and vehicular hub. The existing dome-shaped center was replaced with a glass and brick addition with metal accents that suits the architecturally-diverse neighborhood context. The modernized center offers new dining and marketplace options; conference and meeting rooms; exercise and aerobic rooms; racquetball and squash courts; recreation sports and student services offices; assessment areas; dedicated fitness and weight training spaces; locker rooms; as well as support spaces. An outdoor plaza extends dining activities toward pedestrians entering and exiting the adjacent parking garage.

This project is LEED Silver with United States Green Building Council. Notable sustainable design features include: low-emitting materials, CO2 monitoring, and rain gardens.
