The design for the Mooresville High School addition and renovation began with a feasibility study. The project included construction a 116,000-square-foot building addition to serve as an athletics and performing arts center for the school and the community. The addition features a partial two-story wing with physical education and team locker rooms on the lower level and classrooms on the upper floor. The new three-court gymnasium offers seating for 2,200 spectators. The corridor directly outside the gymnasium was designed for after-hours access and serves as a lobby during athletic events. The new 1,600-seat auditorium is a focal point for the school and community. Other music and performing arts spaces such as band, chorus, drama, and art are adjacently located to the auditorium, which completes the performing arts center.
