York County’s new three-story family court facility fuses traditional courthouse design with contemporary detailing to provide a new marquee for the existing county office complex in Rock Hill. The building houses the clerk of court, solicitor, and public defender for the family court. The project includes a secure sallyport with a basement-level holding area, large meeting space for county functions, and separate secure entries for the staff and public.

The project also includes the renovation of several offices at the Heckle Complex, which will convert space vacated by the family court into magistrate functions and will update the planning and tax departments to maximize efficiency and improve workspace. New interiors will be provided throughout the complex to replace failing original finishes.
