This new 400-bed adult detention facility includes a public lobby with video visitation, administration spaces with a training room, a full culinary kitchen, laundry area, booking and intake, a warehouse with a loading dock, and vehicular sally port. The facility is one of the few in Virginia with a dedicated mental health wing. The wing features medical administration offices, high-density records storage, a laboratory, and pharmacy. Exam rooms, including emergency treatment and mental health evaluation spaces, will reduce the costs of hospital visits and improve the care of inmates.
