Tom has practiced architecture for over 25 years, with a special focus on integrating sustainable design and adaptive-use strategies. He has lectured at more than 50 national and international conferences and universities presenting case-studies for his award-winning work in urban revitalization, adaptive use of historic structures, and sustainable design. Tom was recognized in 2013 by AIA Baltimore as Community Architect of the Year. In 2022, the Maryland Department of Planning and Maryland Planning Commissioners Association presented him with the Citizen Planner of the Year award in recognition of his years of service in the preservation in Baltimore City. Tom is a member the Baltimore County Landmarks Preservation Commission and president of the Friends of Maryland’s Olmsted Parks & Landscapes. He also serves on the firm’s board of directors.
