Senior Associate Chelsea Thomas Honored by AIA Baltimore

Chelsea Thomas, AIA

AIA Baltimore and the Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) named Chelsea Thomas the 2022 recipient of the Roger D. Redden Award for her lifelong dedication to architecture and to furthering its understanding in Baltimore. Thomas accepted the award at a ceremony attended by architects, contractors, consultants and owners on Oct 14 at Baltimore’s Center for Architecture and Design.

The jury cited the significant contributions Chelsea has made through her on-going leadership of Doors Open Baltimore (DOB). In partnership with the Baltimore Architecture Foundation, Chelsea founded the annual citywide festival that encourages the exploration of local architecture through open houses, guided tours and scavenger hunts. Since the inaugural event in 2014, thousands of residents and visitors have explored the city’s landmarks free of charge.

“I’ve made lasting friendships and worked alongside many others that are passionate about exploring the hidden architectural treasures throughout the city. The feedback from participants consistently indicates that this event shines a positive light on the city, and that’s exactly what we need right now.”
